Hello Windham High School Families,

Celebrating our students who earned National College Board Recognition!
19 WHS students have been awarded College Board  National Recognition for their academic achievement! 9 are members of the Class 0f 2027 and 10 are members of the Class of 2028. They earned this academic honor because of their GPA of 3.5 or higher and outstanding performance on the PSAT/NMSQT®. They can now list this honor on applications to stand out to colleges and scholarships. 

We will be administering the PSAT-NMSAT to students in grades 10-11 and the PSAT 8/9 to students in grade 9 on 10/21. We will  hold PSAT preparedness assemblies on 10/20.

Wednesday: Progress reports are due - These will be mailed and also visible to you in Powerschool.

Wednesday:  Fire drill at 10:20 am

Celebrating  Whippet Acts of Kindness:  When  students or staff members see an Act of Kindness, we have a special Google form they can submit, and we will recognize these Act of Kindness in our announcements each day.

WPS 60 Day Attendance Challenge for Staff and Students: Setting a Strong Foundation
Please remind your students of our attendance guidelines and that attendance contracts will be issued to students with more than 7 absences in a class. Notifications of attendance contracts have been mailed.

CELEBRATING HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH
Morning Announcements: September 15 – October 15
Spirit Week: September 14 – September 18
Latin Music: Played at the beginning and end of the school day in the main entrance, September 15 – October 15
Soccer Bingo: “Bingo Soccer Edition” during the morning announcements throughout the celebration
Contest: “Design the Unity Ball or Jersey”
Classroom Door Decoration: Create a flag representing a Hispanic or Latino country
“Our Stories, Our Voices” Gathering: Student stories and poems shared during Parent Conferences
Friday Lunch Activities: DJ, Lotería, and Photo Booth
After-School Craft Activity: Makerspace
Closing Assembly: October 30 to celebrate the conclusion of Hispanic Heritage Month
